I love establishing and developing good communications with clients and stakeholders; rigorous financial and project management discipline; production of high quality analysis and reports; and providing facilitation support during engagement processes. My role involves providing strategic advice on all aspects of a consultation or engagement process, drawing on my ability to resolve unexpected challenges. I am Prince2 qualified and lead on Traverse’s internal quality management.
Working in the field of public and stakeholder engagement since 1999, I began at the Environmental Council where I spent five years managing the BNFL National Stakeholder Dialogue project. I also managed engagement projects for the NDA, BERR, DEFRA, DECC and the EA. Afterwards I worked as an independent engagement project manager and carried out a three month secondment at DTI where my role was to set up the engagement structures and processes for the about to be created Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA).
At Traverse Helen has acted as the Project Director for numerous high profile and large scale consultations, including four HS2 consultations and four CQC consultations. She has also led a 2-year long engagement project on Nature Improvement Areas for Natural England and two Smart Motorways projects for Highways England. I'm currently leading on a project engaging the public to explore their needs and experience when using Connected Autonomous Vehicles.
