James is an experienced stakeholder and public engagement professional, with a diverse background ranging from energy generation, rail infrastructure and local housing, through to driverless cars, the future of social care and the use of consumer data.
I am passionate about the impact that genuine engagement can have - from getting under the skin of an issue, digging deeper than people’s instinctive reactions, to seeing a tentative suggestion around a table evolve into a policy change or new initiative. The best engagement leads to better decisions for everyone.
Prior to joining Traverse I worked at Which?, the Consumers’ Association, in the Corporate Affairs and then External Affairs team, overseeing their external engagement and offering insight into some of their key advocacy work and campaigns in energy, rail and aviation.
Before Which? I honed my skills in facilitation, consultation and engagement at agencies Westbourne, Curtin&Co and BritainThinks.
