Jessie is a public and stakeholder engagement professional having gained experience over the last 23 years. Specialising in health and care she has worked at senior levels leading politically complex projects and initiatives including re-building relationships with the public following high profile system failures. Jessie’s work has focused on enabling people who use services and the public to have a voice in all aspects of health and care including planning, commissioning, delivering, regulating , developing and decision making.
I feel privileged to have worked across the health and care system pioneering and co-producing innovative new ways of working. These include community leadership projects to ensure the public are able to drive forward the changes that matter most to them, establishing community interest companies that provide public engagement, insight and research on the issues that are most important to the people involved and developing learning programmes that enable health and care professionals to ensure patients and the public are at the heart of health and care.
I bring recent experience of work in the professional health regulation sector having just concluded two years as Head of Public Support at The Nursing and Midwifery Council where I led on the development and delivery of a strategy for a person-centred approach to regulation and fitness to practise.
As someone who commissioned Traverse to deliver work in a previous role I was impressed by the quality of the work and the integrity that underpinned it so when a role came up I was keen to join the organisation. I am excited to be able to draw on the strength and expertise of a diverse range of colleagues to deliver important projects that influence continuous improvement across the health and care sector.
