Lucy joined Traverse in 2021. She has a wide range of experience in public consultation and stakeholder engagement at a national, regional and local level across health, social care, the voluntary sector and private sectors.
"I am passionate about placing communities at the heart of decision-making and making sure everyone’s voice is heard.
My professional experience varies from working in aerospace development to writing and editing books for Mumsnet (a great place to learn about the power of crowds!). I have also worked for voluntary sector organisations including Mind, Rethink Mental Health and Women's Aid.
I have spent nearly ten years working in the NHS with responsibility for formal consultations, stakeholder engagement and patient and public involvement. I have been responsible for leading consultations for the NHS around significant service changes including community hospital development, primary care relocations and new service design.
I have also led inclusion and equality for a large NHS Trust through the pandemic: a time when voices from across our communities needed to be heard more than ever to identify, understand and challenge health inequalities.
I am excited to be at Traverse, applying the consultation skills I’ve learned in the NHS to other sectors and industries, especially infrastructure. I am looking forward to working with passionate, smart and curious people to help clients ensure that the voice of the community is embedded in ideas development and decision-making.”
